Who We Are
Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida, Inc. is the area’s premier leadership experience for girls. Our mission is to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. Girl Scouting has existed on the Gulf Coast of Florida since 1925.

What We Do
Girls develop their leadership potential through activities that enable them to discover their values, skills, and the world around them: connect with others in a multicultural environment; and take action to make a difference in the world.

Our Structure
The council has a membership of nearly 7,000 girls in grades K-12, and nearly 3,000 adult members. Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida, Inc. is chartered by Girl Scouts of the USA and serves girls in ten counties including: Manatee, Hardee, Highlands, Sarasota, DeSoto, Charlotte, Glades, Lee, Hendry, and Collier. The council is governed by a volunteer board of directors who represent  the geographic, ethnic, and social demographics of the council’s jurisdiction.

Our Funding
The council is funded through allocations from United Ways, annual product sales, gifts and donations, grants, bequests, investment income, and fees for programs and events.
